How to do financial analysis of a company?

Pick any company
For example – pick Tata Steel
Now, do the following..

Download its
– Annual Reports
– Earnings Call Transcripts
– Investor Presentations

As you start reading these
Start writing down questions that come to your mind.

– How is steel produced?
– What are the raw materials?
– How big is Tata Steel?
– Where is their capacity?
– What defines steel prices?
– Who are the consumers of steel?
– Does Tata Steel control the raw materials?
– What are growth prospects?
– Does the business require lot of capital?
– Does this capital come from debt?
– Does the business require working capital?

And so on…

You get the gist.

Many of the answers would be in the reports you are reading!

In this process, you will learn about the business and the company. If you are looking to excel in company analysis, this is what you want to try and do..
